Men’s Medicine Circle

A small group journey for men, held with care from preparation through integration.

Men’s Medicine Circle: An Overview

Many men carry a lot, quietly. That might be responsibility for family and work, or grief that never had room to land. It might be stress that shows up as irritability or distance, or a sense of going through the motions of a life that looks fine from the outside. Often there are few places where it feels safe to set that weight down, and fewer still where other men are doing the same.

This circle was designed to offer that place. Over a small group of four to five men, we’ll prepare together, journey together, and make sense of the experience together, with individual care woven through every stage.

Psilocybin can open a door. The relationships, reflection, and integration around it are what help you carry what you find back into your life, your relationships, and your work.

This circle is for men who are curious about psilocybin and want to do this work with intention and in good company. You might be looking for more clarity, connection, or emotional range, or you might be working through a transition, a loss, or a pattern you’re ready to change. No prior psychedelic experience is needed. Every participant completes a careful screening process, because psilocybin isn’t the right fit for everyone. Our first priority is your safety.

Who is this circle for?

  1. Initial screening. You’ll meet one-on-one with one of our licensed clinical facilitators to talk through your history, your intentions, and whether this circle is a good fit. This is also your chance to ask anything you like.

  2. Deeper screening: Once we meet for the first time or two, then we can start the official process of sending along state-required informed consent documents and other supportive information. We want to go through a lot of these details together to answer all of your questions.

  3. Individual preparation. Before the group gathers, you’ll have at least 1 (more likely 2-3) private preparation session(s) with at least one of our licensed clinical facilitators. Together you’ll clarify your intentions, talk through what to expect, and build tools for meeting whatever arises.

  4. Group preparation (virtual): Wednesday, December 2. The members of this quarterly circle will meet online to build trust, share intentions, and go over the flow of journey day.

  5. Journey day, Friday: December 4. We gather at The Clearing in a calm, carefully prepared setting. All three licensed clinical facilitators are present throughout to support each participant and the group as a whole.

  6. Integration circle (in person): Saturday, December 5. The morning after, we come back together to reflect, listen, and begin translating insight into something lived.

  7. Individual integration. In the weeks that follow, you can schedule up to three additional one-on-one integration sessions, as you want or need them.

All of our facilitators are Licensed Clinical Facilitators, meaning they bring extensive experience, formal training, and clinical backgrounds in mental health care to every session, so whichever model you choose, you're held by professionals equipped to guide you safely and skillfully through the experience.

For our men’s medicine circle for December 4th and 5th, we plan to have Jim Kemp, PsyD, David Raniere, PhD, and Adam O’Neil, PhD as your licensed clinical facilitators.

The standard group rate is $2,850 per participant. This includes screening, individual preparation, virtual group preparation, journey day, the in-person integration circle, and up to three individual integration sessions. It is not uncommon to spend about 20 hours together for our quarterly circles, and the rate covers hard costs associated with this experience as well.

Visit our sliding scale structure hyperlinked here if you want to learn more about our sliding scale rates for this circle, too.

We also love to offer a “Welcome back” rate to our returning journeyers!
Many people find that a single journey opens something they want to keep exploring. Returning for a follow-up journey is common, and we’re glad to walk alongside you again. To honor the relationship and the groundwork you’ve already done, we offer reduced rates for returning participants:

Returning participant rate: $1,800
Sliding scale: $1,200 to $1,500 for returning participants with financial need
Pay it forward: $2,000 or more for returning participants with the means to help make this work accessible to others

We will be asking participants for a deposit of half their rate at the time of completing step 2, above (the deeper screening process). This allows us to plan ahead for the group experience, purchase natural medicine and other ‘hard cost’ items (e.g., groceries, laundry service, food for the journey day afternoon, etc.), and we like to think about money as an artifact of your commitment to yourself. Ask us questions in the contact form below!

We would love to get all group members confirmed about a month in advance, so November 5th. This would give us all enough time to get through our state-required paperwork, addressing your inquiry and determining goodness of fit, scheduling in some preparation sessions, and having a chance to meet altogether. We will prioritize early registrants, of course, but would be happy to meet with you even if you might be interested in future men’s groups. We are planning on offering this at least quarterly throughout the year, with medicine circles around March, June, September and December each year.
